How Fiskl Handles Account Reconciliation
Reconciliation compares the transactions in a Fiskl bank or cash account with your bank statement, pairs the ones that agree, and shows you the rest so you can fix them.
What Fiskl Does for You
- Matches statement lines to transactions. When you upload a statement, Fiskl pairs each line with a transaction of the same amount, on the same date first and then within seven days. Matched pairs sit on one row, joined by a line.
- Explains what is left. Every unmatched item is labelled: not in Fiskl, not on the statement, or a near match with the amount or date that differs. Each label comes with the action that fixes it.
- Keeps matches honest. If a matched transaction is later edited or deleted, Fiskl undoes the match and flags it as changed, so a reconciled-looking screen is never wrong.
- Shows the difference in words. Under the balance tiles, Fiskl says which side is higher and what the gap is made of.
Types of Reconciliation Scenarios
You will meet two situations:
- Everything matches. The difference is zero and nothing is left in Needs Attention. Reconcile appears in the Difference tile; select it to lock the period.
- Discrepancies present. Some items are in Needs Attention. Work through them using the action on each card, then reconcile. See Handling Reconciliation Discrepancies.
