Duplicate Detection
Fiskl checks for duplicates at every point where the same transaction could enter your books twice. This page explains each check.
Documents You Upload
AI-Powered Expenses checks every receipt, invoice and bill you upload against your existing expenses. When a document matches an existing expense, Fiskl flags it and does not create a second record. See Uploading Documents.
Bank Feeds
When you reconnect a bank, Fiskl lists your existing bank and credit card accounts, with the closest match first. Select your original account and the feed continues into it. Nothing is imported twice, and your reconciliations stay as they are.
If a reconnection already created a second account, select Change linked account to point the live feed at your original account. Fiskl archives the empty copy. A duplicate check then finds matching transactions across the two accounts and clears the later copies. Anything reconciled or linked to a payment is left alone.
Your Ledger
Fi, your AI CFO, checks your full ledger for duplicate transactions. Fi also checks for duplicates when it reviews a period before you lock it. Ask Fi to find duplicates in any period. See Anomaly and Fraud-Risk Detection.
During Reconciliation
Reconciliation lists duplicate entries as a discrepancy to resolve. See Account Reconciliation.
Common Issues
A bank transaction appeared after I recorded it manually
Match the bank transaction to the entry you recorded, so the payment is counted once. See Match and Split Transactions.
