Why Use AI-Powered Expenses
AI-Powered Expenses replaces manual expense handling with a fully automated pipeline. Upload a receipt or invoice and Fiskl extracts the data, categorises the expense, and reconciles it against your bank transactions — without any manual intervention.
Extraction — AI reads vendor name, date, amount, tax, and line items directly from the document image.
Categorisation — The expense is assigned to the correct category automatically based on the document content.
Reconciliation — Once your bank transaction appears, Fiskl matches it to the expense automatically, completing the record without manual matching.
How It Works
The AI-Powered Expenses workflow follows four steps:
- Upload — Upload receipt or invoice images through the web app
- Extract — AI and machine learning extract all relevant data from the document
- Save — The expense saves to Accounts Payable with categorisation applied automatically
- Reconcile — The system matches expenses with bank transactions when they appear

Usage and Limits
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of scans. Usage is counted per page, not per document. A five-page invoice counts as five scans.

HEIC files convert to JPEG automatically. Large PNG files and oversized images are also converted or resized for faster processing. Original HEIC files are not preserved after conversion.
