Advisory Overview
Advisory turns your client list into a daily brief. It reads each connected client's Fiskl account, flags the ones that need attention, and helps you write to them about it.
What Advisory Does
Most accountants find out about a problem when the client calls. Advisory flags it first. It watches a set of signals across every connected client and raises an attention item when one crosses your firm's threshold.
With Advisory you can:
- See every client ranked by how urgently they need you
- Open one client to find out what fired, the figures behind it, and what has already been done
- Snooze or dismiss an item, with the reason kept on record
- Draft a note to the client with AI, using only the figures shown on screen
- Tune which signals fire, and how sensitive they are, for your whole firm
The Signals
Advisory watches ten signals. Each one has a threshold you can change in the advisory settings.
| Signal | What it looks for |
|---|---|
| Tax filing due | A return falls due within your warning window |
| Overdue receivables | Unpaid invoices past their due date |
| Bank feed broken | A bank connection has stopped working |
| Bank feed stale | No bank sync for a number of days |
| Unmatched bank items | Bank lines not yet matched or categorised |
| Year end approaching | The fiscal year end is close |
| No recent activity | Nothing has been booked for a while |
| Bookkeeping issues | The books check found high-priority findings |
| Cash runway low | Cash covers fewer months of outgoings than your limit |
| Current ratio below 1 | Current liabilities exceed current assets |
Each item is rated Urgent, Soon or Note. The rating decides where a client sits in the list.
Before You Begin: Connect Each Client Fully
Advisory only reads clients that are fully connected to their Fiskl account. Adding a client to Atlas, or accepting their invitation, is only the first half of the connection. The second half completes when an accountant from your firm opens the client's Fiskl account from Atlas for the first time.
To complete the connection for a client:
- Go to Client Management > Clients
- Find the client in the list
- If the row shows Set Up Access, select it to assign yourself to the client
- Select Access Fiskl to open the client's account
After you open the account once, the connection is complete. Advisory picks the client up the next time the view loads.
A client that nobody from your firm has opened in Fiskl shows no signals in the Advisory view. If a client's row is blank, this is the usual reason. See The Client List and Client Page.
Where You See Advisory
Advisory appears in three places:
- Dashboard card — A Clients needing attention card shows how many clients are urgent, and opens the Advisory view
- Advisory view — A second view of the client list. Switch between Clients and Advisory at the top of the list
- Client page — An Advisory section on each client's page lists their attention items and the notes you have sent
Who Can Use It
Advisory has three permissions. Owners, Admins and Members can view and act on items. Only Owners and Admins can change the settings. Viewers can see the Advisory view for every branch but cannot act.
| Permission | What it allows | Default roles |
|---|---|---|
| View advisory | See signals, the Advisory view and note history | Owner, Admin, Member, Viewer |
| Action advisory items | Snooze, dismiss, draft and send notes | Owner, Admin, Member |
| Manage advisory settings | Change signals, thresholds and note tone | Owner, Admin |
See Roles and Permissions to change these for a team member.
