Delete Account

This guide explains how to permanently delete your Fiskl account and helps you understand the complete data removal process.

Understanding Account Deletion

Deleting your account permanently removes all your data from Fiskl. This action differs from canceling your subscription, which keeps your data intact.

What gets deleted:

  • All financial records and transactions
  • Invoices, quotes, and estimates
  • Client and vendor information
  • Banking connections and transaction history
  • Reports and saved data
  • User settings and preferences
  • Company information and branding

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All data is permanently erased and cannot be recovered.

Before You Delete Your Account

Take these steps before proceeding with deletion:

Export your data:

  1. Download important invoices and reports
  2. Export your transaction history
  3. Save any financial statements you need
  4. Back up client and vendor contact information

Settle outstanding items:

  1. Collect payment on outstanding invoices
  2. Pay any pending vendor bills
  3. Complete ongoing projects
  4. Notify clients of your account closure

Review alternatives:

  • Consider canceling your subscription instead if you might return
  • Downgrade to the Free plan to maintain access without charges
  • Export data regularly even if you're keeping your account

If you're unsure whether you'll need your data in the future, cancel your subscription instead of deleting your account. You can always delete later.

When to Delete Your Account

  • You're permanently closing your business
  • You're no longer freelancing or self-employed
  • Your company has been acquired or merged

Switching platforms:

  • You've migrated all data to another system
  • You're certain you won't return to Fiskl
  • You've completed all outstanding work

Privacy concerns:

  • You want complete data removal from our systems
  • You're required to delete data for compliance reasons
  • You prefer not to have any data stored

Alternatives to Account Deletion

Before deleting, consider these options:

Cancel subscription:

  • Keep your data while stopping charges
  • Maintain access to the Free plan
  • Easy to re-subscribe if you return
  • Learn more in Cancel Subscription

Downgrade to Free:

  • Access basic features without cost
  • Keep your data intact
  • No billing or payment required
  • See Choose Your Fiskl Plan

Export and pause:

  • Download all your data
  • Cancel your subscription
  • Keep the option to return with a fresh start

Cannot Undo Account Deletion

Once you delete your account:

  • No recovery: Data cannot be restored under any circumstances
  • No backup access: We cannot retrieve deleted information
  • Fresh start only: You can create a new account with the same email, but it will be completely empty
  • Support cannot help: Even Fiskl support cannot recover deleted accounts

If you have any doubt, choose cancellation instead of deletion.

Re-registering After Deletion

If you delete your account and later want to use Fiskl again:

  1. Create a new account: Register with the same or different email
  2. Start fresh: Your new account has no historical data
  3. Set up from scratch: Configure settings, connect banking, and add clients again
  4. No data transfer: Previously deleted data cannot be restored
