Accepting Client Invitations
This guide explains how to manage client invitations when business owners invite you to access their Fiskl accounts in the Client Pays model.
How Client Invitations Workβ
When a business owner creates their account using your Client Pays invitation link, they complete their setup and send you an invitation to access their account. You receive a notification and can review the invitation before accepting.

- Applies only to Client Pays model
- Client creates and owns their account
- You receive invitation after client completes setup
- You can accept or reject invitations

Finding Client Invitationsβ
The portal shows pending invitations in the sidebar navigation.
Invitation notification:
- Look for Client Invitations below Clients in left sidebar
- Badge shows count of pending invitations (e.g., "2" if two waiting)
- Badge updates in real time as invitations arrive
- Badge disappears when no pending invitations remain
To view pending invitations:
- Go to sidebar navigation
- Look under Clients section
- Select Client Invitations
- All pending invitations display in a list
Reviewing Client Invitationsβ
Each invitation shows important details about the client and their request.
Invitation details include:
- Client company name
- Business owner name and email
- Date invitation was sent
- Client's message (if they added one)
- Account status and subscription plan
- Branch invitation is assigned to
Client messages:
If the client added a message when sending the invitation, you can read it before deciding. Common messages include:
- Introduction to their business
- Specific services they need
- Timeline or deadlines
- Special requirements or questions
Accepting Client Invitationsβ
Accept invitations to establish the accountant-client relationship and gain access to their account.
To accept an invitation:
- Go to Client Invitations in the sidebar
- Review the invitation details
- Read any client message
- Select Accept Invitation
- Confirm the action
What happens after accepting:
- Accounts link immediately
- Client appears in your Clients list
- You gain full accountant access to their account
- Client receives email notification of acceptance
- You can begin working in their account
- Client pays their own subscription (Client Pays model)
Your access includes:
- View all financial data
- Create and manage invoices
- Record expenses and transactions
- Generate reports
- Manage banking connections
- Configure settings (with appropriate permissions)
Rejecting Client Invitationsβ
Reject invitations when you cannot take on the client or the relationship isn't a good fit.
To reject an invitation:
- Go to Client Invitations in the sidebar
- Select the invitation to review
- Select Reject Invitation
- Select reason for rejection from preset options:
- Capacity full - Not accepting new clients currently
- Outside service area - Client location or industry not covered
- Service mismatch - Services needed don't match what you offer
- Conflict of interest - Existing client conflict
- Other - Custom reason
- If selecting "Other", enter your custom reason
- Add optional message to client explaining the rejection
- Select Confirm Rejection
What happens after rejecting:
- Client receives email notification
- Your rejection reason and message (if added) are shared with client
- Invitation removes from your pending list
- Client can seek services elsewhere
- No relationship established
Best practices for rejections:
- Respond promptly (within 24-48 hours)
- Be professional and courteous
- Provide constructive explanation when possible
- Suggest alternatives if appropriate (other firms, resources)
- Keep messages brief but respectful
Managing Multiple Invitationsβ
When you have multiple pending invitations, prioritize your review process.
Review strategy:
- Sort by date - Oldest invitations first
- Read messages - Prioritize those with detailed requests
- Check capacity - Ensure you can handle new clients
- Evaluate fit - Match services to client needs
- Respond promptly - Don't leave clients waiting

For multiple invitations:
- Review all details before making decisions
- Accept compatible clients first
