Customizing Your Dashboard
This guide explains how to personalize your Dashboard by controlling which widgets appear and in what order, helping you focus on the metrics that matter most to your business.
Opening the configuration panel
To open the Dashboard configuration panel, go to the Dashboard and select the Customise Dashboard icon in the top-right corner. The configuration panel opens and displays all available Dashboard sections with controls to show, hide, and reorder them.
Understanding widget visibility
Each Dashboard section can be shown or hidden independently. Visible widgets display on your Dashboard; hidden widgets are removed from view but remain available to enable at any time.
Your permission level determines which widgets you can access:
| Permission level | Available widgets |
|---|---|
| Full Account Access | Key Metrics, Cashflow, Ratios, Invoicing, AR/AP Aging, Banking, Time, Mileage |
| Billing & Invoicing | Invoicing, Time, Mileage |
| Limited Access | Time, Mileage |
If you have limited permissions, the configuration panel displays an information banner explaining which widgets are available based on your role.
Showing or hiding widgets
- Open the configuration panel.
- Locate the widget you want to show or hide.
- Toggle the switch next to the widget name. Blue means the widget is visible; grey means it is hidden.
- The count at the top of the panel updates to reflect the number of visible and hidden widgets.
- Select Save.
Reordering widgets
- Open the configuration panel.
- Select and hold the grip icon (six dots) on the left of any widget.
- Drag the widget up or down to your preferred position.
- Release to place it in the new location. Other widgets shift automatically to make space.
- Select Save.
As you drag, the widget becomes slightly transparent and a highlighted drop zone shows where it will land.
Saving your configuration
After making changes, select Save in the bottom-right of the panel. Your configuration saves immediately, the panel closes, and your Dashboard updates with the new layout.
The Save button is only active when you have made changes. If it appears greyed out, no changes have been made yet.
Cancelling changes
Select Cancel in the bottom-right of the panel. If you have unsaved changes, a confirmation prompt appears. Confirm to discard your changes — the panel closes and your Dashboard remains unchanged.
Resetting to default
To restore the original Dashboard layout, open the configuration panel and select Reset to Default in the bottom-left. A confirmation prompt appears. Confirm to reset all widgets to their default visibility and order as set by Fiskl.
Resetting removes all your customisations. This action cannot be undone. You will need to reconfigure your Dashboard manually if you reset accidentally.
Configuration best practices
Start with the default layout and use the Dashboard for a few days before customising. You will quickly learn which widgets you check most often. Once you have a sense of your priorities, place the widgets you check multiple times daily at the top of the list.
If your business focus changes, revisit your configuration. Hidden widgets remain available at any time — there is no need to delete a widget when hiding it is enough. Reviewing your layout every few months keeps the Dashboard aligned with how your business has grown.
Permission-based configurations
Full Account Access
With full access, all widgets are available. A recommended starting order is: Key Metrics, Cashflow Chart, AR Aging, Invoicing Summary, and Banking Activity. This gives you a complete view of financial health, cash position, and client billing status in a single scroll.
Billing & Invoicing users
With Billing & Invoicing access, you can see the Invoicing, Time, and Mileage widgets. Placing Invoicing Summary at the top makes it easy to track client billing at a glance, followed by Time Summary and Mileage Summary for logging and reimbursement purposes.
Limited users
With limited access, only the Time and Mileage widgets are available. Place Time Summary first if logging hours is your primary task, or Mileage Summary first if mileage tracking takes priority.
Common Issues
Changes do not save
Check your internet connection and try selecting Save again. If the issue continues, refresh the page and reconfigure your layout.
A widget does not appear after enabling it
Confirm you selected Save rather than Cancel. Scroll down the Dashboard — the widget may be below the visible area. If it still does not appear, refresh the page to force a reload.
A widget you need is not available
Your permission level determines which widgets are visible in the configuration panel. Check the information banner inside the panel, and contact your account administrator to request additional access if needed.
