Fiskl has a new interface, a smarter Fi, automated expense capture, and a faster foundation to build on. Here is what changed.

Why we did this

Our previous interface technology was limiting how quickly we could ship new features. We rebuilt the interface layer on a new stack so we can move faster from here on. Your data, your accounting engine, and everything behind the interface remains the same.

What this means for you

The interface looks different. The layout follows a similar structure to what you know, but it is more modern, more responsive, and includes accessibility options such as light and dark mode and adjustable font sizes.

Fi, our AI assistant, now has access to parts of your data and can analyse your finances, produce reports, and pull information from government agencies including the IRS, HMRC, and tax authorities in Singapore and Australia. We are already trialling the ability for Fi to perform actions on your data directly.

Reports now support comparing multiple customisable periods, no longer limited to three.

Expenses have been redesigned around an accounting-first workflow. You can now upload images and PDFs which are sent through a pipeline of OCR, machine learning, and AI to extract the relevant information and automatically create your accounts payable entries. The previous expenses workflow is being wound down as this new approach matures.

We have also introduced more automation across the platform, including auto-matching and auto-categorisation. These are opt-in for now, so you can enable them when you are ready.

What to do next

No action is required. Both interfaces share the same foundation and your data, so you can switch between them freely during the transition period. The old interface will run alongside the new one for four to six weeks. The new platform is considered beta, which means you may see more frequent updates than usual as we move towards a stable release.
